Sportsfield Specialties Inc. located in Delhi, NY is seeking a Purchasing Representative to join our team to help support and coordinate the needs of Sales, Customer Service and Production departments.

Responsibilities/Duties include but not limited to:

  • Maintain required inventory levels for raw materials;
  • Create purchase orders as needed for inventory fulfillment and customer orders;
  • Communicate inventory deficiencies to production scheduler;
  • Proactively follow up with vendors to ensure on time deliveries;
  • Communicate with production daily to verify there are no material issues;
  • Obtain competitive pricing and optimize purchases when possible;
  • Have an understanding of products and manufacturing processes;
  • Assist with cycle counting and end of year inventory.

Required Qualifications:

Skills:

  • Knowledge of aluminum and steel – sheet and structure helpful but not required.
  • Outstanding communication, organizational and attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment.
  • Ability to collaborate professionally at all levels or organization.
  • Self-motivated, ability to proactively make decisions and great negotiation skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office products.
  • Working knowledge or MRP software helpful but not required.
  • Flexible schedule when required.

Experience/Education:

• 5 years of Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.

Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. located in Delhi, NY is seeking and experienced, hands on Production Manager to plan, direct, coordinate and supervise daily production personnel/activities.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Motivate, direct, coach and develop a diverse team to meet established goals and build organizational capability;
  • Execute strategies that promote and sustain the safety and welfare of all production employees;
  • Maintain safe, clean, orderly and environmentally-compliant production operations;
  • Communicate with and assist department supervisors/leads with scheduling needs and work assignments.
  • Provide technical recommendations and implementation for continuous improvement in plant production processes;
  • Enforce and apply all company policies, and safety and OSHA procedures;
  • Reduce costs and increase yields through direct involvement;
  • Train new supervisor/lead personnel in becoming acclimated to plant environment and production requirements;
  • Develops schedules and manpower requirements for all areas.
  • Prioritizes production schedules for assigned areas.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with sheet metal, structure, welding, powder paint, assembly, and shipping.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment utilizing TQM, Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma.
  • Proven technical leadership with problem solving methods to deliver results.\
  • Possess business and financial acumen to understand key business drivers, financial processes, cost controls and profitability factors.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with persons at all levels of the organization.
  • Solid organizational/prioritization skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and ERP.

SSI is seeking an experienced Manufacturing/Design Engineer to be responsible for all activities related to custom steel and aluminum pole netting systems.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Design custom netting systems based on governing building codes;
  • Provide design support and cost analysis for sales department;
  • Develop production drawings using Solidworks;
  • Release production orders via SAP;
  • Coordinate w/internal departments and third party firms to ensure successful on-time release of systems;
  • Perform cost estimation and project take-offs;
  • Respond to all inquiries in a timely and accurate manner;
  • Maintain up to date product knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience considered in lieu of.
  • Design experience w/Steel (AISC) and Aluminum & Concrete (ACI).
  • Knowledge of ASCE 7 Structural Code.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and Solidworks.
  • Experience with Enercalc and AutoCAD a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational/prioritization skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and help others.
  • Must be able to travel on occasion.

SSI Direct is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to help drive further growth of our aftermarket business by developing strategic initiatives that correlate with the demands of the direct sale sports equipment market.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Frequent travel throughout a predefined regional sales territory based in Texas or California
  • Proactively develop and maintain customer relationships with targeted end-users, including but not limited to Athletic Directors, Coaches, and Facility Managers of School Districts and Institutions of Higher Learning
  • Achieve regional sales objectives by identifying and securing relevant sales opportunities; providing exceptional, hands-on customer service; thinking critically and resolving issues; identifying trends; communicating and cooperating effectively with colleagues; participating in new product development and existing product enhancement; prioritizing and optimizing one’s time
  • Develop a keen understanding of the end-user market by performing market research, reviewing and comparing competitors, and attending annual trade shows both regionally and nationally
  • Aspire to become an expert across all relevant product groups, with an emphasis on those most commonly sold directly into the end-user market; this includes a working understanding of the rules and regulations of the associated sport or event
  • Effectively share leads and work cooperatively with other internal sales divisions; work to develop a mutually beneficial synergy with your sales counterparts, including but not limited to the Regional Construction and Stadium Sales Divisions
  • In conjunction with Customer Service, manage all aspects of the selling process; opportunity identification, quote generation, customer follow-up, order entry, production scheduling, delivery logistics, and post-delivery service
  • Develop a keen understanding of Cooperative Purchasing and incorporate as a key element within the overall direct sales strategy

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or prior sales experience considered in lieu of
  • Prior sales experience in the athletic environment preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • General computer proficiency
