Promats Merges with Parent Company, Sportsfield Specialties

As of January 1, 2019, Promats Athletics of Salisbury and Delhi, NY-based parent company, Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. (SSI) merged forces, consolidating divisions under the SSI entity.

American Sports Builders Game Changer Awards on a table

Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. of Delhi, NY was awarded several accolades at the American Sports Builders Association’s (ASBA) annual Technical Meeting in Scottsdale, AZ in early December. Honors included two Game Changer Awards for SSI’s innovations in track and field equipment and recognition for their role in numerous award-winning sports construction projects.

Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. (SSI) hosted their 13th annual Customer Appreciation Party in conjunction with the American Sports Builders Association’s (ASBA) Annual Technical Meeting and Trade Show. The event took place on December 1, 2018 at the Fairmont Princess Resort’s Plaza Bar in Scottsdale, AZ.

Permanent Filming Towers Added to Product Lineup

In 2017, Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. (SSI) introduced its first line of permanent filming towers, which two NCAA Division I colleges quickly took notice of. The University of Delaware purchased a 15’H SSI filming tower to support video coverage of games and practices at Fred P. Rullo Stadium, home of the 2016 NCAA Division I field hockey champions. Boston College ordered two sets of 20’H and 10’H filming towers to be installed at both their soccer and field hockey complexes.

Ivy League's Brown Bears Upgrade Fields For Elite Competition

Brown University recently completed a $5 million upgrade to their baseball and softball fields making their complex the premier venue in the Ivy League and New England. As the trusted leaders in sports construction equipment, Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. (SSI) was invited to work with designers at Gale Associates, Inc. and installers at R.A.D. Sports to upgrade the existing grass surface to a world-class synthetic playing field.

Sportsfield Transforms MLS Stadium for NFL's Chargers

In January, NFL’s San Diego Chargers announced the decision to move to Los Angeles, but there was one hitch, they didn’t have a stadium to call home. To accommodate the displaced football team, L.A.’s Galaxy Major League Soccer club invited the Chargers to utilize their state-the-art StubHub center temporarily until the completion of their new Inglewood stadium. This marks the first time in history an NFL stadium has played at a soccer specific venue.

Sportsfield Specialties Expands to Serve Canadian Market

Following a 2016 expansion of their Delhi, NY manufacturing facility, Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. (SSI) made the strategic decision to also expand their sales capabilities in North America. According to David Moxley, Director of Sports Construction Sales, SSI will now market their products to clients in all territories of Canada.
